NICK TAYLOR

Vice President, Technical Services & Business Improvement

Nick Taylor is the Vice President of Technical Services & Business Improvement for Rio Tinto Energy America, with responsibilities in strategic and long term mine planning, geological services, land management, environmental affairs, project management and business improvement.

Mr. Taylor graduated from the University of Wales with a Bachelor of Science degree in Mining Engineering.  Mr. Taylor worked nearly a decade in various Copper and Uranium mining operations in Africa and Papua New Guinea, mostly for Rio Tinto (RTZ).  After two years on a Greenfield coal project in Queensland, he spent a further 10 years in mining consultancy roles, rejoining Rio Tinto (then Minenco) in 1992 as a global open pit mining advisor in the Technical Services group, specializing in Greenfield project development and mine planning. 

Mr. Taylor moved to his current role at Rio Tinto Energy America’s corporate office in Gillette in 2005.
